Improve Stage Presence

You can do much more than simply improve your singing with singing lessons tips. An important part of singing that is sometimes overlooked in singing lessons tips is that of stage presence. You may well be a great singer, but nerves and stage fright can overshadow you talent very quickly.
You may have been in the school and church choir, but getting on stage along is very different than being surrounded by friends. Every eye in the room will be on you, and it is easy to feel nervous and scared.
The following are a few singing lessons tips you may be taught during lessons, which will help you with your stage presence.

Be Prepared For An Audience

No matter where you are singing you should always be prepared, from the local bar to a theater! When you are fully prepared it can help to calm you down. If you are not prepared and consequently become scared of your performance, it can have physical affects such as the tightening of your throat.
A good music teacher will explain that practicing until you no longer have to think about your performance is the key. This way you will never forget the lyrics and can keep going even if somebody behind you makes a mistake.
A part of preparation is making sure your voice is warmed up before you sing.

Confidence Is Essential

As you become comfortable with singing you will feel more confident, so the more lessons you have the better it will be for you. If you are confident you can get through almost anything. The more you practice and the better your voice becomes, the more you will grow in confidence, which will shine through when performing.
You can improve stage presence in a similar fashion. If you exude confidence you will have a better stage presence. If you appear happy to be there, the audience will be happy you are there, you should walk out ready to entertain.

Own That Microphone!

Thanks to microphones your performance will come off even better than it would without. Enhancing your voice with the correct microphone control helps you to really engage with the whole audience and not just the ones at the front.
Make sure to test the mic before you go on, this is all part of your preparation, sing into it. Be comfortable with the mic so you can take it out of the stand and put it back smoothly, know where to hold it from your mouth to get the best sound.
Hold it in one hand. Do not throw it about between your hands, you could drop it or it can make you nervous.

Focus On Your Singing Lessons

It can be easy to completely forget all you have learned in the moment of being on stage. Do not forget all the tips and techniques you have been taught, breath correctly and stand in the right way, this way you will sing to the best of your ability.

Work The Stage But Remember The Right Posture

Moving around on stage is great, but don’t go too mad. We can’t all be Freddie Mercury, some of us just don’t have the balance! Moving around stage is all well and good, and it is helpful to engage with the audience, however do not throw your posture lessons out of the window at the first chance you get.
Also, look like you are enjoying yourself! Smiling helps the audience connect with you but will also keep your facial muscles warmed up!
